The radio models
- VW Composition Media,
- Discover Media and
- Discover Pro
were built on the basis of the MIB system. MIB stands for Modular Infotainment Kit. It was developed for Audi and VW Volkswagen. In all systems, the control unit is located in the glove compartment, with the display separate from it. All of these systems are suitable for retrofitting with Digital Radio DAB+. The infotainment systems Composition Touch and Composition Colour also belong to this MIB family, but their control unit and display are not separate. Therefore, they are not suitable for retrofitting. Volkswagen VW also technically refers to its systems as MIB 1, MIB 2, MIB 2.5, or MIB 3.
However, with the VW Composition Media, Discover Media, and Discover Pro, retrofitting with Digital Radio DAB+ is often necessary because it is not built-in. With high-quality retrofit solutions, you can bring precisely these functions into your vehicle – safely, quickly, and precisely.

Two requirements for compatibility
1st requirement
The display and control unit must be separated because the DAB+ interface is connected between these two devices, which are connected with an LVDS cable.
2nd requirement
The visible diagonal of the display must not be larger than 8 inches, i.e. 20.3 cm.

Installation
For the installation of our DAB+ interface, basic equipment is usually sufficient. The original radio is secured with screws. Torx T20 screws are usually used. The screws are located under the panels, which can be removed with our TORX removal tool set 
quickly and without damage. Of course, step-by-step installation instructions are always included and demo videos are available on the product page.
Connection options and function
Connection is straightforward and is made via the Quadlock connector. The entire Quadlock connector
is used to connect the interfaces. The LVDS cable is also connected. Connection is made using plug-and-play connectors. Since the interface works via the AUX function, this function must be enabled in your vehicle. If it isn't currently enabled, it can easily be enabled via coding.
