The radio models
- VW Composition Media,
- Discover Media and
- Discover Pro
are based on the MIB system (Modular Infotainment Platform), developed for Audi and Volkswagen. In all systems, the control unit is located in the glove compartment while the display is separate. These systems are compatible for retrofitting Digital Radio DAB+. The Composition Touch and Composition Colour also belong to the MIB family, but as their control unit and display are not separated, they cannot be retrofitted. Volkswagen also refers to these systems as MIB 1, MIB 2, MIB 2.5 and MIB 3.
For the VW Composition Media, Discover Media and Discover Pro, retrofitting Digital Radio DAB+ is often necessary because it was not installed from factory. With high-quality retrofit solutions, you can bring these modern functions into your vehicle – reliably and precisely.

MIB 3 systems are not compatible
Two requirements for compatibility
1. Requirement
The display and the control unit must be separate, because the DAB+ interface is installed between these two devices using an LVDS cable.
2. Requirement
The visible diagonal of the display must not exceed 8 inches, equivalent to 20.3 cm.

Installation
To install our DAB+ interface, basic tools are usually sufficient. The original radio is fastened with screws. Typically, TORX T20 screws are used. The screws are located under trim parts that can be removed quickly and without damage using our TORX removal set

Connection options and functionality
The connection is simple and is made at the Quadlock connector. For the installation, the entire Quadlock connector
is used. Additionally, the LVDS cable is connected. The connection is made using plug-and-play connectors. Since the interface uses the AUX function, this function must be activated in your vehicle. If it is not active, it can easily be enabled via coding.
