For all Streaming Boxes in Skoda Superb (2010) with Radio Swing - retrofit iPod / iPhone interface and USB connection

Instructions for installing a box for connecting USB sticks, SD cards, AUX-In and with a Bluetooth hands-free system. You can retrofit all Streaming Boxes in a comparable way.

Vehicle is a Skoda Superb.

In this example, a Radio Swing (2010) is used. These instructions can also serve as a template for retrofitting other radio models, e.g. Dance, Cruise PN1, Beat, and much more.

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - Remove the cover

Carefully lever off the cover of the radio with a small rod from the inside or with a removal tool (see online shop, accessories area) from the outside.

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - remove radio

Loosen the screws in order to be able to pull out the radio (see arrows).

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - Pull out the radio

Carefully pull out the radio a little and disconnect the connector.
Also disconnect the plug from the warning lamp for the passenger airbag - attention, from now on please do not switch on the ignition, otherwise there will be a fault in the airbag system!)

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - Loosen the radio antenna

Loosen the antenna connector (push it backwards approx. 3mm)

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - lay the wiring harness

Route the wiring harness from the interface in the passenger footwell towards the radio slot. In case of doubt, a wire is suitable for this, in order to be able to carry it through better.

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - connect interface

Then you can take the plug from the radio slot.

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - integrate wiring harness

Integrate the wiring harness (remove the blue original connector from the Quadlock connector block and loop it through the wiring harness of the interface). Then insert the white plug of the interface in the position where the blue plug was previously in the radio.

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - Fasten the ground point

Fasten the ground point of the wiring harness - here on a screw in the rear of the radio slot. Alternatively, the earth cable can also be attached to the radio housing (using an appropriate screw).

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - lay microphone

In this example, the microphone is attached in the area of the ignition key. This method is very simple and does not require a lot of effort to position it. You can get to the position directly from the radio slot.

The cable can then be led to the interface in reverse order.

Skoda Superb - Swing radio - connect interface

Now the interface (stowed here in the storage net of the passenger footwell) can be connected to the cable harness and the microphone and equipped with a USB stick or SD card.

Then insert the radio again, plug in the Quadlock connector, antenna and airbag control lamp. Tighten the screws and clip in the radio panal.
FINISHED.

ATTENTION: Before installing the radio, please test all functions of the interface / streaming box. If everything works, you can go to complete the assembly.
