Upgrade your car radio: Audi MMI 3G with DAB+ and Bluetooth

The Audi Multimedia Systems MMI 3G were installed in four versions:

  • MMI 3G Basic
  • MMI 3G High
  • MMI 3G Plus
  • MMI 3G Touch

All four versions frequently lack important modern features such as Bluetooth music streaming and Digital Radio DAB+. This limits the use of modern devices and services. Our retrofit solutions solve this problem and upgrade your Audi MMI 3G system to today’s standards.
 

Which MMI 3G system do I have?

You can accurately identify your Audi MMI 3G system using the software version numberSoftware version number MMI 3G System. This allows you to distinguish it from other MMI 3G models or the Audi MMI 2G system.
Here is how the software IDs are structured:

MMI 3G Basic:           BBT_XX_XXXXX_XX or BNav_XX-XXXXX
MMI 3G High:            HNav_XX-XXXXX
MMI 3G Plus / Touch:  HN+_XX-XXXXX or HN+R_XX-XXXXX
Note: The MMI 2G system has software version numbers formatted as: SW: XX-XX XX-X-X XXXX.

How do I open this menu? Press SETUP on your system, then select SETTINGS (top right). Now choose VERSION or VERSION INFORMATION at the bottom of the list.

Installation

Whether you install it yourself or through a workshop – upgrading your Audi MMI 3G system is straightforward. The system components such as the CD player or CD changer are locked in place with spring clips. You can remove them using radio removal tools Radio removal tools. We strongly recommend using them for a damage-free installation. A step-by-step installation guide is always included, and demo videos are available on the product page.

 

Connection options

Using the MOST optical technology, you can connect a wide range of additional interfaces and upgrade your existing system with extra features. All connections are made via plug-and-play connectors. Always use permanent positive power for the power supply. IMPORTANT: Since our interface connects directly to the main MMI unit, you do not need an AMI (Audi Music Interface). Our retrofits are compatible with all Audi MMI 3G systems — with or without AMI.
