Which version of this radio model do I have?

This radio model exists in two fundamentally different versions.

Swing I without MDI / Media-In

• Identification 1: When you switch on the vehicle lights, the radio display has a green backlight with black text.
• Identification 2: An AUX port is located on the radio, not separated from the radio.

Swing II with MDI / Media-In

• Identification 1: The radio display is black/white. Usually, the text is white on a black background, sometimes reversed.
• Identification 2: In the center console or glove compartment area, there is an AUX-In or MEDIA-In port.
• Identification 3: The menu shows entries such as "iPod" or "MEDIA IN".

There is also a third version of this radio based on the MIB system. It has the part numbers XXX 035 842, XXX 035 844, XXX 035 864 or XXX 035 866. We do not offer retrofits for this version.

Installation

The removal and installation of the Skoda Swing I (without MDI) can usually be done with basic tools. The original radio is fastened with screws. Commonly used are T20 TORX screws. These screws are hidden behind trim pieces that can be quickly and safely removed using our TORX removal kit . A step-by-step installation guide is available for download or as a printed version.

Connection options

The connection of the Skoda Swing I (without MDI) is simple and based on the Quadlock connector. The port for the streaming box is the port for the external CD changer.
