Generally:
Does the Streaming Box have to be activated / coded?
No. Coding or activation via the vehicle's diagnostic system is not necessary.
I have already installed a Bluetooth hands-free system. Don't the systems hinder each other?
No. An already installed Bluetooth hands-free system can still be used without any problems. You can then set in the smartphone that the "old" Bluetooth connection should continue to be used for phone calls and that the new connection should be used for music transfer.
Can I also connect my iPhone via Bluetooth?
Yes. All smartphones that use the standardized Bluetooth protocol (Bluetooth 4.0) can be connected.
Can I use the buttons on the radio or the multifunction steering wheel to control the Streaming Box?
Yes, to us for regulating the volume and for selecting the previous or the next track. You can find more details in the instruction guide.
I already have a CD changer installed. Can this still be used?
No, if a CD changer is already installed, it must first be deactivated (during the installation of the Streaming Box you would have to replace the plug of the CD changer with the plug of the Streaming Box).
What should I choose? CD changer or Bluetooth?
It's a matter of taste. For some, the CD changer is indispensable. There choose the CD changer. Others do not want to do without the new possibilities of Bluetooth and simply copy the CD's onto their smartphone or into the cloud and then have both functions.
Installation:
Where and how is the Streaming Box connected exactly?
The Streaming Box is connected to the CD changer connection on the rear of the radio. This connection is available on all radios named in this shop. A CD changer does not have to be installed in advance so that you can use the Streaming Box. The appropriate menu is automatically activated after connecting the Streaming Box in the radio.
Do I need additional or special tools for installation?
If you want to remove and install the radio safely and without damage or scratches, we recommend using the release hooks or the set to remove the panels. In many cases you simply need a T20 and T8 Torx screwdriver and, on some vehicles, a plastic wedge.
Are the removal tools generally included in the scope of delivery?
No. If you need suitable release hooks or other tools to remove the radio, you can find them under the menu item "Accessories".
Are there instructions for Installation?
In the menu item Installation examples you will find examples of different brands and vehicles for the installation of our products. Since the installation is often very similar, the various steps in the instructions can also be transferred to many other vehicles. We also offer you step-by-step installation instructions.
Why is the blue control LED not lit?
The blue control LED lights up as soon as an interference-free audio connection has been established between the radio and the Streaming Box. The prerequisite is that you have switched your radio to CD changer mode. Only then does the LED light up.
What can I do if the installation just doesn't work?
The very detailed and illustrated instructions are a great help. If you get stuck with this, please send us an email. In the vast majority of cases, we can resolve problems and questions at short notice by email.
If the slot is already occupied, what should I do?
a. Car radio Audi Chorus 1, Chorus 2, Concert 1, Concert 2, Symphony 1, Symphony 2, Navi Plus RNS-D
In these radio models, the slot can be blocked by a wide black plug. In this case you need our cable splitter 20P
b. Radios with Quadlock connection
The slot for the streaming box is often occupied by a blue plug. This can be the CD changer or an AUX connection or USB connection that is built into the center console. You can pull out the blue plug in the lower left chamber of the Quadlock connector block without worrying so that you can connect the Streaming Box there. Just leave the blue plug behind the radio.
The white plug of the Streaming Box does not fit correctly, it is too big
If your VAG vehicle is already from model year 2011 or later, your Quadlock connector has a minimal change, which is why the white connector does not fit into the slot provided. To solve this problem, we deliberately built the connector in two parts so that you can pull the outer white part out to the side. The inner black core can then be plugged into the slot without problems and without impairing functionality. However, pay attention to the positioning (the locking lug must be at the top).
If you are concerned that it could accidentally slip out, you can also secure it to other cables with a cable tie.
Usage:
Noise occurs during Playback
a. Not speed-dependent: Interfering noises are usually caused by plug contacts that are not firmly seated. Therefore, check all connections on the radio and on the adapter itself so that the best transmission quality can be guaranteed.
b. Speed-dependent: You should not lay the connection cable for the adapter directly and too close to power lines, otherwise an interference signal can be transmitted from the alternator (this is quieter or louder depending on the corresponding engine speed). Reposition the cable and the problem will be resolved.
After installation, “NO CD Changer” appears in the display
If the radio does not recognize the adapter despite proper installation (“NO CD CHANGER” in the display), you should check the following steps: Make sure that the earth cable is connected correctly. Test other ground points. Check the cables for damage. Slide the connector in and out of the slot a few times. Any corrosion on the contacts will wear off. Let the radio run for an hour without connecting a device to the CD changer port. Then the radio resets the port and recognizes the Streaming Box as a new device. Have a check whether the CD changer input on the radio is blocked and must first be activated (encoded). In rare cases it is necessary to briefly disconnect the car's battery in order for the radio to reset and recognize the CD changer.
How are the tracks shown on the radio display?
The radio recognizes the Streaming Box as a (virtual) CD changer. This is also shown in the radio display (folder numbers and track numbers). Unfortunately, the exact display of the title in the radio display is generally not possible with such devices, as the radio interface does not support this function.
