Interface iPod / iPhone / USB 4101 (4.2) for MMI 2G HIGH
Anyone who wants a purely wired playback of audio files from USB sticks and smartphones or another smart device from Apple will find an excellent solution in this interface.
The music streaming function is added to your MMI 2G HIGH and you can enjoy your journey in the car even more.
Note: The interface is only suitable for the MMI 2G HIGH.
Information such as the music title, artist, album, etc. is displayed on the MMI screen.
Simple selection of the interface in the MMI system under MEDIA. The interface is integrated into the MMI system and controlled via the system and the multifunction steering wheel. Communication takes place via the fiber optic cable (MOST bus).
An original CD changer can still be used in parallel. Any further CD changers or an AMI can no longer be used.
The software version of the MMI must be at least version SW 3450.
How can I query the software version?
Press the SETUP and RETURN buttons one after the other and hold them down until the MMI installation list appears on the screen. Here you select the INTERFACEBOX control device and read off the software version. Please exit the menu with the RETURN key.

Generally:
Does the Interface have to be activated / coded?
No. Coding or activation via the vehicle's diagnostic system is not necessary.
Can I also connect my iPhone via Bluetooth?
Yes. All smartphones that use the standardized Bluetooth protocol (Bluetooth 4.0) can be connected.
Can I use the buttons on the radio or the multifunction steering wheel to control the Interface?
Yes, to us for regulating the volume and for selecting the previous or the next track. You can find more details in the instruction guide.
I already have additional devices installed. Can these still be used?
You can connect a variety of systems to the fiber optic circuit.

It is important that the fiber optic circuit remains closed. For this, we enclose a fiber optic Y cable with every product.

Where and how is the Interface connected exactly?
The Interface can be connected to the CD changer connection. Alternatively, directly on the MMI system or on the control knob.
Do I need additional or special tools for installation?
You need the usual tools or electrical tools. Occasionally our removal tools are needed.
Are there instructions for Installation?
In the menu item Installation examples you will find examples of different brands and vehicles for the installation of our products. Since the installation is often very similar, the various steps in the instructions can also be transferred to many other vehicles. We also offer you step-by-step installation instructions.
What can I do if the installation just doesn't work?
The very detailed and illustrated instructions are a great help. If you get stuck with this, please send us an email. In the vast majority of cases, we can resolve problems and questions at short notice by email.
